Solstice

The Darkness  

isn't meant to consume you  

or to be consumed.  

No matter how many lights you hang,  

it will persist,  

drawing us into a dreamlike state  

of remembering,  

reflecting,  

and resting.  

It invites us to consider the possibility  

that we are asleep  

and that we can awaken. 

Transforms the space,  

blurring the lines, 

We are led  

into our hearts,  

Into the intimacy of our pain.  

This is a rite of passage—  

to feel fully,  

To grieve and laugh at the same moment.  

This is the gift.  

Slow down.  

Let the mist fill your lungs;  

Exhale stars.
